I used to work as an “essential worker” at Binghamton General Hospital in upstate N.Y., and being on the front lines I can tell you that private insurance is a nightmare. Imaging paying insurance fees all your life, and when you get sick they refuse you care. The for-profit system of care is about profits and not people. If your care is too expensive and most likely terminal, expect a lengthy court battle with your insurance provider.

Denying Expensive Claims is Standard Practice in Private Insurance

I saw this practice first hand, often and regularly. Americans have the highest cost of care and medicine in the world, all because of unscrupulous capitalist that cares about money more than people.
